Artist Statement
My work operates in areas of dissension, where concept and representation, traditional and contemporary media, both contradict and feed each other; a confrontational yet symbiotic relationship: are we merely looking, hearing, touching, or can we think and feel beyond what our senses show us?

All of my work, be it 2d wall based, or video and multimedia has strong digital elements in differing degrees, and has an awareness that communication through digital media is sometimes thought of as "commercial", related to design or graphics, particularly when a strong aesthetic is represented; any meaning is often disregarded in the face of a strong sensual expression, as if the two can't co-exist. As more fine artists are co-opting graphic strategies in high profile work - such as Tuner Prize nominee Mark Titchner, the digital "discussion" is gaining greater relevance outside the realms of pure design, a process that informs and pushes my own work, and something that I aim to contribute to.

A large-scale installation of sound and video, simultaneously showing three narrative driven six-minute films, multiple-projected onto and through a series of hand made panel-screens. A public opening and subsequent two week showing was the culmination of a three month resident project, preceeded by an peer group critique and artist talk.
